Protein Power!

A BIG thank you to everyone for the congrats to Sean and I on our news to adopt! We are in the process of making our blog/website and getting our story put together to share. Very exciting times for us! We appreciate the support through this journey to start a family and both Sean and I loved reading the comments from you guys!
So for many of you who follow me via Twitter, Facebook, or even Instagram! You may have noticed a whole lotta protein packed EATS! I have been trying to add more protein to my meals and I gotta tell you it has helped me feel full longer. I have noticed I am very rarely reaching for a snack.
I wanted to share a few of my favorites that I have eaten for breakfast but they can certainly be used at any meal time!
First up-
The Protein Pancake!
3 egg whites (1PP)
1/3 C quick cooking oatmeal (2PP)
1 Scoop protein powder ( I use Aria 1 scoop =1PP)
1TB Chia Seeds )1PP)
dash or two or cinnamon
splash of vanilla extract

Add everything to a bowl and whip it up with a fork.

Spray PAM in a medium sized pan and cook for just a couple of minutes on each side- or until golden brown.

Then the BEST part! Top your pancake with ANYTHING YOU LIKE! Smile  I have been making a “syrup” with PB2. Just add a little more water and stir it up to get the right consistency that you like. You could do the same thing with regular peanut butter too! Want it a little sweet? Stir in a squeeze of honey to the “syrup” and enjoy! Smile
I have topped my pancake with bananas, fresh strawberries, or low sugar jam- like this picture!
The pancake comes in at 5PP (an additional 2 PP for my toppings)

Ok ready for another recipe? This one is just as protein packed!
Protein Waffles!
1/3 C egg beaters (1PP)
1/3 C Fat Free Cottage Cheese (1PP)
1/3 C Rolled Oats (2PP)
1 Scoop Protein powder (1PP)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
sprinkle or two of cinnamon
Place all ingredients into a blender- blend up! This makes a delicious batter that I like to add to my waffle maker.

Here we have PB2 “syrup” and bananna! YUM!

Or to my mini donut maker (oh yes I did!) lol You get all of the batter for 5 PP ( I made 8 Mini donuts !!) and again you can top your waffle with anything you wish! Or dip your donuts into a little cinnamon sugar mix for additional PP! I tried spraying a couple of sprays of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter on these and then dipping them into the sugar/cinnamon mix and it works great!

Another way that I have been getting in protein- Green smoothies! These come in handy when you are on the GO! Or just coming home from the pool & starving! Smile
How to make Green Smoothies
A favorite combo of mine lately-
PEACHES & CREAM GREEN SMOOTHIE
1 C unsweetened almond breeze (1pp)
1 Scoop protein powder (mine is Aria and is vanilla flavored) (1PP)
huge handful of fresh organic spinach
4-5 frozen peach slices
BLEND it all up and ENJOY! (PS no spinach taste at all! Just a yummy peaches & cream flavor!)

Smile have a great day everyone! BYE!

  1. I'm a day behind on my blog reading...so congrats! Motherhood is the best! I found some "samples" of different protein powders at a specialty store in my area, so I grabbed them. Need to try them out! Thanks for all the great ideas! ~ Bev

  5. Thanks for posting these higher protein ideas. I have been following the 17 Day Diet which is higher protein and I am amazed at how I don't get hungry in between meals like I use to.

I posted a high protein chocolate muffin that is made in the microwave - you might like it, and it's only 3 WWPP!

  7. Okay. I just finished watching "Hungry For Change" (the documentary. Very good!) and it talked about how great chia seeds are for you. Then I stumbled upon your blog from another and what do I find? Fantastic looking pancakes with chia seeds! Thank you! :)
