I have seen a lot of blogs & links to all of the great new products they are selling at the meetings too. I know that the member kits are helpful to some people but honestly I don't think I opened my food guide or dining out companion once! Not really interested in a calculator either since I use my iPhone app for that. I think maybe a new cookbook might be in order though! You know me with my cookbook addiction! haha!
So I plan on going through my fridge, freezer, & pantry to re-calculate all of the foods that I have here at home. Fun day today huh? lol Actually I am so geeky that I DO think it's fun! haha! It feels nice to actually have this much excitement about the program again. :)
Ok so anyone else as giddy as I am? Have you checked out the new e-tools? Played around with the PointsPlus calculator and gotten any surprises? Any make you mad? lol I must admit, being a CARB lover & seeing my 1 point english muffins/sandwich thins/bagel thins go from ONE to THREE points was a little heartbreaking. lol I need to go to bread rehab. (NO, NO, NO!)
Can't wait to go to my meeting tomorrow! I also had a GREAT week on plan so I am anxious to get on the scale! :)
Have a great day everyone! :) BYE!
SO EXCITED to have eTools! Squeeeeeeeeeeee!! Yes, the English muffins are now 3 but we have more points to play with now, so I'm not going to sweat them or feel bad about eating them. The whole world has expanded!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited for the new plan too! Sadly it's not being launched in Canada until next week - sob! I will live vicariously through my American blog friends for a week -- but from what I've heard so far I think I'm really going to like the changes. (But like you, I love my carbs, so I think that's going to be quite an adjustment!)
ReplyDeletegonna hop over to etools and check it out...and ya...so EXCITED! Fruit for free..be still my heart.
ReplyDeleteNot been to a meeting this month so I had not heard of the change. Being a lifetime member now I don't get E-tools free anymore:( So I will more than likely do the same thing I have been doing. IT IT AIN'T BROKEN WHY FIX IT! smile.
ReplyDeleteI am also excited about the change! I signed up for WW Online last week and started tracking today! I need a change and since I can't stand any of the leaders at the NYC meetings I can actually go to, online it is! Enjoy (I am geeking out with you - just recalculated all the foods I keep at my desk!)
ReplyDeleteI don't speak WW. But if you're excited I'm excited! Yayyy!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited for the new plan. We don't launch until NEXT week....so will have to follow your progress this week, and join in the discussion when we can!!! (I never met a carb I didn't like though...so I'll be having to do some juggling with points...can't give 'em up! :) )
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the new program. I heard it was suppose to be in Canada today but was totally bummed this morning when I saw that it was the same. Now word has it Dec. 5th...I can hope. So jelous you have an application for your iphone. They don't have one for us here :( Guess I'll be buying a new calculator.
ReplyDeleteTJ thanks for sharing all the information. I don't attend meetings anymore but I guess I could since I am a lifetime member! I look forward to hearing more about it!
ReplyDeleteSome things may have increased in points but from what I hear, you will also get more points, so that may even it out. And also less pts for other things, like fruit. So it seems like it may balance out in the end.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing you excited about this stuff. You're not geeky, you're cool, and make following the program fun!
ReplyDeleteTJ, I'm going to start back on WW in the next couple of weeks. Soon as I'm feeling better and I think I"m going to go the e-tools route w ith a drop in meeting twice a month.
ReplyDeleteSounds like with the new program it's just the thing I need. I need to get excited about WW and reading your post reminded me that I too used to go through my cupboards and fridge writing my points and even filling out my planner a day a head. Need to get back to that...
oh and it's a very sad day to know those sandwhich bagel thingies are now 3 points. Oh the horror and I"m right there next to you in bread rehab.
paula
I am excited too! I need to go see if it's more Diabetic friendly now! =)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful weekend!
xoxoxo
I'm excited too! Going to hit a meeting on Tuesday this week instead of waiting for my regular Saturday. I do wish they had waited until after the new year began, but I won't complain so long as it works!:)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited too! I've been playing around with the tracker all morning (except when I went to the gym) and I really have to stop now and do some other things. I did find a few inconsistencies between what's in the WW database and what I calculated off the box of a few items. I'll have to ask my leader on Wed. what to do in those situations. I know the old answer was to use the NI off the box, but I want to be sure.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read much about it yet, but I think getting more points was way overdue. My friend was on it and only got 19 points a day, which is like 950-1150 calories a day, which isn't enough in my book. And last time I checked, no one got overweight eating too much fruit! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm making out my grocery list tonight, and I can tell you that fruits and veggies are going to make up at least 60% of it. I'm so excited! But mannnnn, I'm sad about the carbs, too. Boo!
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to sign up for WW online now, I am really intrigued about it and I think it will be helpful. Thanks for letting me know that it's online now!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to get on the site at all today. I am a little nervous about the formula for figuring out points being more complicated.... it'll make it harder to guestimate pts. Before it was "when it doubt, 50 cals=1pt. No more of that, I guess. Probably shouldn't have been doing it in the first place, dang nabbit.
ReplyDeleteI'm clueless in this department. Never tried WW although I've been known to count a few calories...
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. I just... I don't know. I haven't followed the flex points plan in MONTHS so this new plan has me TOTALLY lost. I've been following the old plan from 7 years ago. So... IDK. If I do decide to go on the new plan, I am going to have to go back to meetings. And I'm not sure if I am ready for that right now. I've done fine without that in my life. But I'm glad everyone is so happy about it. And I really don't like how everything has gone up so much in points. I mean, the popcorn? And the BREAD?! And PASTA?! Ouch!!
ReplyDeletelol @ alexia...I don't speak weight watcher either but I know they lowered fruit and upped bread. Good luck with the new system.
ReplyDeleteI had to give up my WW membership so I'm really jealous to not be in the loop on this! You'll have to let me know if it was all rolled out at once or if they're going to give you the new program in dribs and drabs. Once before it took 4 weeks to get the whole program info. If it's a one time thing, maybe I could go for a week to get the info....
ReplyDeleteHope the new program rocks for you!
I was just reading about the new program on someone else's blog, and it sounds awesome. I wish there was a WW closer to me. The nearest one is almost 40 miles away. *sniff sniff*
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm starting all over again- but it's a good thing because I am more careful about what I'm eating and making sure to measure EVERYTHING. It'll take some getting used to, but I know it's going to make me healthier and help me lose more weight.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO LUCKY to start today! I can't wait until tomorrow to get the info and THURSDAY to start! I'm keeping an open mind about new points! I need a change to kick start my butt on weight loss again. I'm SICK of being stuck at 25 lbs loss. Enjoy!
